Project Overview

Wexford Local Development website (wld.ie) is a modern, responsive website designed to improve access to community services, training programmes, and support initiatives across Wexford. The goal of the project was to create a clear, accessible, and easy-to-navigate platform that helps users quickly find relevant information and engage with local development services. The website was designed to serve a diverse audience, including job seekers, community groups, and individuals accessing support services. A strong focus was placed on usability, accessibility, and clear information hierarchy to ensure a straightforward user experience across all devices. The final solution was designed in Figma and developed using WordPress, resulting in a flexible and easily maintainable website for ongoing updates.

Design & Development Process

Wexford Local Development website (wld.ie) was designed in Figma and developed using WordPress, following a user-centred UX and development process. I started by researching the organisation’s services and user groups, focusing on how people access community support, training, and local development information. Based on this, I created structured wireframes and high-fidelity UI designs in Figma, prioritising clarity, accessibility and easy navigation across a wide range of services. The design was refined through iteration to ensure a clean, professional layout that works effectively on both mobile and desktop. I then built the website in WordPress, translating the Figma designs into a fully responsive and manageable site using appropriate themes and plugins. The final product delivers an accessible, easy to navigate platform that improves how users discover and engage with Wexford Local Development services.
